Vesta is a pet-friendly environment. However, prior to bringing a pet to any of our buildings, residents must agree to the pet policy, by adding their pets in the app or by printing and signing this policy and returning it via email to support@vestaliving.ie. This must happen before the pet is brought to the apartment. If submitting by email, please include a photo of your pet.
Once approved by Management your pet can then reside with you in the apartment. Please note that service animals are allowed to accompany a person with a disability, this is without charge.
VESTA PET POLICY
The following is the pet policy of Vesta which was developed to ensure the safety of all Resident’s and their pets. The purpose of this policy is to provide standards to insure the best possible environment for both pet owners and non-pet owners and to insure the responsible care of pets.
When you have a pet, this policy forms part of your lease and is a legally binding document. Once you have added your pet to the app or signed this form, we must approve the pet. Once we do, the pet has temporary, revocable permission to be on the premises. Any failure to meet the conditions listed below will result the permission for the pet being withdrawn at the sole discretion of Vesta.
The following are the conditions of the pet policy which must be accepted and signed prior to any pet being allowed on the premises:
- Any Resident or Applicant who wishes to keep a pet in their Apartment shall request permission from Vesta at least 2 weeks prior to the arrival of the pet.
- No pet shall be allowed in the building without this pet policy being read and accepted by the resident or applicant.
- Permitted pets include domesticated dogs (maximum 2) and cats (maximum 2), small caged birds and fish tanks (maximum 1 tank, less than 50 litres). No snakes, lizards, frogs or arachnids are permitted.
- Dog breeds that are strictly prohibited include; Pit bulls, German Shepard’s, Japanese Akita, Bandog, Bull Mastiff, Staffordshire Terriers, English Bull Terrier, Chows, Alaskan Malamutes, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Siberian Huskies, Rottweilers, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Japanese Tosa, Presa Canarios, Wolf Hybrids, XL Bullys (and deriviatives).
- Cat breeds that are strictly prohibited include; Any restricted cat breed, Savannah, Serval (and deriviatives), Asian leopard derivatives (excluding Bengal).
- Owners must be able to exercise physical control over their pets. Dogs & Cats must be on a lead at all times when in publicly accessible areas.
- All female dogs over the age of six months and all female cats over the age of five months must be spayed. All male dogs over the age of eight months and all male cats over the age of ten months must be neutered. If health problems prevent such spaying or neutering, a veterinarian’s certificate will be necessary to allow the pet to become or continue to live at a Vesta property.
- Pet owners shall be liable for damage caused by their pets. It is strongly suggested that pet owners obtain liability insurance.
- Pet owners shall provide the name and address of a pet caretaker who will assume responsibility for the care of their pets should the owner be unable to, as well as the name and address of the veterinarian responsible for the pet’s healthcare. If the Resident is unable to provide the name of a pet caretaker, he/she shall make alternative arrangements for pet care in an emergency and shall notify management of these arrangements.
-
Pet owners shall ensure that no nuisance is created by their pet. Examples of nuisance behaviour are as follows:
- Pets whose unruly behaviour causes personal injury or property damage.
- Pets who make noise continuously for a period of 10 minutes or intermittently for 2 hours or more to the disturbance of any resident, at any time of day or night.
- Pets in common areas who are not under the complete physical control of a responsible person and on a hand-held leash of no more than six feet in length or in a pet carrier.
- Pets who relieve themselves on walls or floors of common areas.
- Pets who exhibit aggressive or other dangerous or potentially dangerous behaviour.
- Pets who are conspicuously unclean or parasite infested.
- Pet owners are responsible for keeping the unit and its patios, if any, clean and free of pet odours, insect infestation and pet faeces, urine, waste and litter.
- Pet owners are must restrain and prevent the pet from gnawing, chewing, scratching or otherwise defacing the doors, walls, windows and floor coverings of the unit, other units and the common area, buildings, landscapingand shrubs.
- Pet owners shall immediately remove, clean up and appropriately dispose of any pet faeces, waste and litter deposited by the Resident’s pet on the common grounds, shrubs, flower beds, sidewalks, accessways, parking lots and streets of the project. Dispose of pet waste and litter using procedures for the Resident’s specific building. Pet waste must never be disposed of in toilets.
- Pet owners shall be responsible for the proper care and feeding of their pets. If the health or safety of the pet is threatened by the death or incapacity of the pet owner or if the pet is left unattended for 24 hours, the project manager may contact the responsible party designated by the pet owner in the pet registration. If that person is unavailable or unwilling to care for the pet, the project manager may contact the appropriate local authority to remove and care for the pet. If neither source of aid is available, Vesta may enter the premises, remove the pet and arrange for pet care for no less than 30 days to protect the pet. Funds for such care will come from the Resident’s deposit.
BREACH OF RULES
If any resident observes a breach of these rules, please notify Vesta immediately via support@vestaliving.ie. We will review and address the matter as relevant.
- If a breach of the Pet Rules is not resolved the pet owner will receive written notice of the violation.
- If the violation continues after the written warning is issued or the pet is determined to be a nuisance or a danger to the community and its residents, the pet owner will receive 30 days’ notice to remove the pet from the premises, failing which the resident will be in breach of its tenancy agreement and will be dealt with accordingly.
